Lochanview log cabins at Kippford a small yachting village on the stunning Colvend coast, Dumfries and Galloway. The Log cabins offer all year round self catering short breaks and holidays for couples looking for a quiet break away from it all   with lots of coastal and woodland walks for you and your dog to enjoy. Lots of attractions in the area.

The log cabins are double glazed with oil central heating and with the wood for insulation they are always cosy and warm

The cabins both have, one ensuite bedroom with a king size bed and two twin rooms with single beds in

The kitchen has all mod cons,dishwasher, cooker and oven, fridge and freezer, with plenty cupboards to store your provisions

The utility room has a washing machine an ironing board and iron

The cabins are proper home from home 

Dogs are very welcome at Lochanview with many and varied walks for them to enjoy and with no extra cost for your dog 

A short stroll down the hill will take you into Kippford  a narrow village on the shore of the river Urr and popular with yachtsmen is a charming seaside location with two pubs The Mariner and The Anchor both serving food and both dog friendly.The Ark cafe and tea room with gift shop right on the shore with sea views to enjoy with your cuppa and cake.

From Kippford you can take a stroll on the Jubilee footpath to the pretty village of Rockcliffe. Or up into the forest where there are miles of forest walks. Walk across to Rough Island an uninhabited tidal island accessed by a natural causeway. Th island is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and managed as a bird sanctuary. Access is not permitted in May and June during breeding season. 

Craigieknowles golf course is a 9 hole par 3 course just across the road from Lochanview log cabins it is a charming course with a small  tearoom. Colvend golf club 18 hole is a short drive away towards Sandyhills  There are many golf courses in the area 

Sandhills beach is close by with plenty of parking. A large sandy beach for the whole family plus dogs to enjoy, walk along the shoreline and explore the cave. Sandyhills has a small shop, picnic facilities and toilets. 

Southerness with its stunning lighthouse which is one of the oldest in Scotland is also close by. It has a large sandy beach with rock pool and sand dunes with the sea warmed by the Gulf Stream and boasts views off the Solway firth, and  the Cumbrian lake district.

The Seven Stanes cycle routes are also close by. Dalbeattie Forest  Mabie Forest and  Ae Forest The forests have many cycle paths and walks for everyone to enjoy.

There is so much to see and do in this undiscovered part of Scotland with many and varied attractions for the children and you to enjoy.

Castle Douglas the food town a short drive away.With approximately fifty local businesses involved in either producing or selling food and drink it is easy to see why castle Douglas has been designated a food town.The vibrancy and appeal of the town lies in the draw of the cafes and restaurants 

Kirkcudbright with its working harbour the Artists town is also worth a visit,a haven for artists

Carsethorn a pretty village facing out across the Solway firth. The biggest attraction in the village is the Steamboat Inn with its nautical theme serves lunches, dinners, fine ales and spirits seven days a week all year round.The local beaches and the bird rich reserve where millions of seabirds live or over winter are part of the rich natural heritage of the parish. Visitors of the Natural Nature Reserve come to watch birds on the Carsethorn foreshore before continuing to the nature reserves of Southwark and Mersehead. 

New Abbey village where you will find Sweetheart Abbey has a wealth of history. A popular walk whilst there is up Criffel a humped back hill 1871 feel which is the highest around with great views from the summit. Whilst at New Abbey stop for  refreshments at Abbey Cottage tea rooms where you will find great food catering for all with delicious home baking, the tea room also has an arts and crafts area.
