is a charming historic building in the heart of the Peak District, one of Britain's leading receiving theatres.
Buxton Opera House is beautiful Edwardian theatre apparently a particularly fine example of a Frank Matcham theatre design, lovingly restored to its former glory in 2001. A registered charity, it apparently hosts over 400 performances a year and hosts the Buxton Festival in July.
The theatre has a warm and very friendly atmosphere and we and our Tom's and Douglas's Barns holiday cottage guests love to attend plays, musicals, dance there, and of course the Buxton Festival - and the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, every summer
