Welcome to our Large House & Gite near Cognac, France

Our award winning accommodation comprises of a beautiful manor house and gite sleeping in total  up to 12 in a seven acre secluded garden with a heated swimming pool. The manor house is on a bed and breakfast basis and the gite is self catering. It is also possible to take the whole house and/or gite for a house party. Unfortunately the accommodation is not suitable for children under 18 years, although babies up to 18 months are welcome. Rooms are furnished to a very high standard with comfortable beds,  Egyptian cotton bed linen, bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries.  All bedrooms are ensuite and two have small fridges. There is a large guest sitting room with French and English television, English radio and a dvd player. 

Relax by the pool with a glass of the local Pineau or tuck yourself away in the orchard with a book. 

As well as the large heated pool,  there's a jacuzzi on the terrace. Table tennis, boules, croquet, badminton are also available.

The gite has two bedrooms, one double, one twin, both ensuite. There is a large living room with two sofas, table and chairs, tv, dvd player, ipod docking station. The kitchen is very well equipped and has an oven with ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A  terrace with barbecue, table and chairs and sun loungers leads to a private garden.

We are situated in a small hamlet near Bresdon in the Charente Maritime region of France, the second sunniest region of France. It is a perfect location for walking, cycling and exploring the beautiful local countryside. Cycles are available to hire through a local company. It is an amazingly tranquil environment in which to relax with friends or family. Apart from the occasional tractor, the only sound is birdsong.

The hosts are happy to arrange visits and tastings at the distilleries in nearby Cognac.  The beautiful Atlantic coast is just over an hour's drive away.

Table d'hote is served  on most evenings and there are many bars and restaurants, from traditional to gourmet, within a short drive. A car is essential.
