Stonelaws is a lovely working farm in a beautiful rural area, yet only 4 miles from the lovely coastal beaches. The cottages are based in the lovely traditional 18th century heart of the farm, where we have horses, cows and sheep within a picturesque arable area. The farm prictices conservation farming. We have replanted extensive hedging , installed ponds and we now  and we have a plethora of wildlife on the doorstep.

The cottage is are an ideal base to explore lovely East Lothian, visit Edinburgh (35 minutes by car or train) or to use as base to explore the whole of Scotland, as many of our overseas visitors have done. This quiet location offers four self-contained holiday properties which have been upgraded to a high standard whilst retaining many features of their original character.

Law cottage 

Law Cottage is a roomy upgraded farm cottage, all on ground floor. It has  one double bedroom, one twin bedroom,  large kitchen  /sitting  /  dining room. Bathroom with shower over bath, 2nd loo, large utility room. Underfloor heating.  Lovely enclosed grass country  garden with terrace (STB 4 star)

Muir Cottage 

Muir Cottage is a charming smaller cottage with kitchen with french doors to garden, sitting room, double bedroom, bathroom, and upstairs twin bedroom with extensive views over the farm. Sunny enclosed garden with terrace. Underfloor heating /wifi.(STB 4 star)

Grieve's cottage

A charming detached cottage on 2 floors with underfloor heating on ground floor. One double bedroom,  one twin bedroom,  sitting / dining room, kitchen,bathroom with shower over bath, 2nd loo. Underfloor hearing, wifi.  Lovely enclosed terrace garden.(STB 4 star) 

The Bothy

 All ground floor level (STB 3 star) is a traditional detached cottage with large sitting room (wood burning stove) with dining area, one large bedroom with kingsize and single bed, walk-in shower room and well equipped kitchen. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room. Wifi, logs for the stove provided, enclosed terrace garden. Sleeps maximum of 3. It has one step, but is thereafter all on one level.

Stonelaws is an ideal base for walking, cycling or car exploration of the nearby attractions of North Berwick (Scottish Seabird Centre, wonderful beaches), Concorde at the Museum of Flight (1 mile), numerous East Lothian golf courses (including Whitekirk 1 mile away) and East Linton, an attractive conservation village with good delicatessen, butcher, and farm shop.

There are many excellent inns and restaurants serving local food nearby. The farm is on The John Muir Way, which currents provides a fantastic network of walkways across East Lothian, and which is planned to cross Scotland from west to east in future. For the outdoors sports enthusiasts Foxlake Wakeboarding centre and the Dunbar surfing school are both 5 miles away. There is plenty storage on the farm for bikes and other outdoor equipment.
