Stay at Exmoor House if you'd like to enjoy total relaxation, wonderful food, and plenty of beautiful scenery nearby to explore. After you've been out walking, cycling or sightseeing, unwind in front of the log fire with a drink from the bar. In summer, it's great to take your drinks out onto the terrace and soak up the sun or admire Exmoor's wonderfully starry skies.

The house is in Exmoor's highest village, Wheddon Cross - perfectly situated for visiting the whole of the National Park. Full of quirky character, Exmoor House was built in Edwardian times for a local tailor and what is now the dining room, with its views of Dunkery Beacon, was orginally the tailor’s shop. The guests’ sitting room used to be the village library, and has plenty of books and maps which you're welcome to borrow while you're staying.  

Rooms still have their original wooden panelling, which gives them a cosy, homely feel. All the bedrooms are ensuite (some of them have baths, others have showers) and they are designed for maximum comfort without fussiness, to make you feel at home.

Food is a real highlight, best described as 'traditional with a twist'. Everything is home-made, using plenty of lovely locally sourced produce. The menu changes daily and can be tailored specifically to guests' requirements.  There's also a nice wine list and a good choice of other drinks, including Somerset ciders and local beers.
